Floor installation is the last finishing trade before furniture goes in – appearance, acoustics, and walking comfort are decided here. The trade covers laying laminate, engineered and solid parquet, vinyl design floors (LVT, SPD), linoleum, carpet, and resilient coverings such as PVC and rubber. Upstream work includes substrate testing with moisture measurement (CM test on screed), filling and levelling, laying impact sound insulation, and vapour barriers where required. Parquet adds bonding or floating installation plus sanding and sealing. Special uses (sports, industrial, cleanroom) carry additional requirements.
